New Delhi: Public sector lender Punjab National Bank has posted a net profit of Rs544 crore for the fourth quarter ended 31 March, up more than two-fold over the year-ago period.
The bank had a net profit of Rs238 crore in the fourth quarter of 2006-07 fiscal, PNB said in a statement.
Total income of the bank rose to Rs4,417 crore for the fiscal ended 31 March, up 19% from Rs3,713 crore in the year-ago period.
PNB has declared a dividend of 130%, or Rs13 a share on every Rs10 share held, for the year ended 31 March.
For FY 2008, the bank announced a net profit of Rs2,049 crore, up 33% over last year. It had a net profit of Rs1,540 crore in FY 2007.
The total income rose to Rs16,263 crore for FY 2008, from Rs12,967 crore in the previous fiscal.
Shares of PNB were trading at Rs 528, up 4.02% late afternoon on the BSE.
