New Delhi: The direct-to-home service company Airtel digital TV today entered into a partnership with Viacom 18-Colors to launch its first movie and video content subscription service available round the clock during day.
Under the partnership, Airtel Digital TV customers will be able to access movies and video content available on Viacom 18-Colors’ channel Superhitz on subscriptiion.
Airtel customers will watch movies of their choice as per their convenience during the day. For this the customer will have to pay Rs 20 per month which is exclusive of taxes.
“With many in rural India having to wait endlessly for new movie releases, Superhitz is our way of having them keep up with the latest and most varied movie fare on offer on DTH,” Sugato Banerji-CMO- Airtel digital TV, Bharti Airtel said in a statement.
Superhitz will be available via subscription to all Airtel digital TV’s six million customers across the country. This channel will show 10 movies in the first month of launch, with more titles to be added over the subsequent months, the statement said.
“At Viacom 18, we are committed to exploring emerging distribution models to maximise content monetisation,” Gaurav Gandhi, COO, Sun 18 North and head International Business, Viacom 18 said.
