BackChandrashekar Kakal joins L&T Infotech as COO
Kakal, who worked at Infosys for nearly 15 years, will also join the board of L&T Infotech

Bangalore: Chandrashekar Kakal will be chief operating officer (COO) at L&T Infotech, a unit of Larsen and Toubro Ltd, India’s largest engineering and construction company.
Kakal, who worked at Infosys Ltd for nearly 15 years and was last in-charge of global delivery operations, will also join the board of L&T Infotech. Kakal had earlier worked at Ramco Systems Ltd, Wipro Ltd and Ashok Leyland Ltd.
Before his departure from Infosys, Kakal was also heading the India business unit and overseeing Infosys’ core businesses such as application development and infrastructure management. He was also a member of the executive council, the company’s highest decision-making body.
L&T Infotech, which has two chief executives, has set a target of expanding revenue to $3 billion within the next two years. Last year, the company said that it planned to enter new markets though acquisitions to double revenue by 2015 and was working with a clutch of investment bankers to assist in potential acquisitions.
