Ashok Leyland’s April sales rise 16% on demand

New Delhi: Ashok Leyland Ltd, India’s second- biggest maker of trucks and buses, said sales in April rose 16% from a year earlier as local demand increased.
Chennai, southern India-based Ashok Leyland sold 5,849 vehicles in India and overseas last month, compared with 5,039 a year earlier, the company said in an e-mailed statement.
