Mumbai: Tata Power Co. Ltd and Reliance Infrastructure Ltd, which compete for customers in Mumbai, met earlier this week to discuss steps to reduce peak-hour power deficits.
The meeting, the first of its kind, was called by the Maharashtra Electricity Regulatory Commission (MERC). It decided that companies will conduct pilot projects in Mumbai to conserve power.
“MERC will provide some pass-through discounts to the companies for their efforts,” V.P. Raja, MERC chairman said.
