Sunil Lulla quits BCCL
Lulla said he does not plan to continue working in the news media space
New Delhi: Sunil Lulla, president—corporate development, at Bennett, Coleman and Co. Ltd (BCCL), the publishers of The Times of India, on Monday resigned from the company after nine years. Lulla confirmed the development and said, “Today is my last day. I’ve had a fantastic journey here."
While Lulla did not disclose details about his future plans, he said he does not plan to continue working in the news media space. “It’s time to do different things," he said.
Prior to this Lulla was the managing director and chief executive officer of Times Television Network. In January, he moved into the role of president—corporate development at BCCL, while M.K. Anand took over his position at Times Television Network.
In April, Avinash Kaul, chief executive at television channels Times Now, ET Now and Zoom, also left the company to join media and entertainment firm Network 18 Media and Investments Ltd as the chief executive officer of IBN18 Network.
HT Media Ltd, the publisher of Mint and Hindustan Times, competes with the products of BCCL in different markets.
