New Delhi: Bharat Heavy Electricals Ltd, India’s biggest power equipment maker, expects to get orders worth at least Rs10,900 crore from state-owned NTPC Ltd as the utility plans to add generators. The government allowed the country’s biggest power producer last month to invite bids to supply equipment for five projects with a combined capacity of 7,260MW. The generators will use so-called supercritical technology that needs less coal to produce electricity and reduces carbon dioxide emissions.
