Mumbai: State-run LIC Housing Finance Ltd on Wednesday said its net profit rose by 35.51% to Rs213.51 crore for the fourth quarter ended 31 March.
Total income rose to Rs962.94 crore for the fourth quarter ended 31 March compared with Rs790.47 crore during the same period in the corresponding fiscal, LIC Housing said in a filing to the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE).
For the year ended March, the company posted a net profit of Rs662.17 crore compared with Rs531.62 crore in the last fiscal. The firm reported a total income of Rs3,456.24 crore for the year ended March 2010 compared with Rs2,880.17 crore in the previous fiscal. The firm has recommended a dividend of 150% or Rs15 per share.
JSL Q4 net at Rs118 cr; FY10 profit at Rs376 cr
Mumbai: Stainless steel producer JSL Ltd on Wednesday said it has posted a net profit of Rs117.72 crore for the fourth quarter ended 31 March. The company had a net loss of Rs161.23 crore for the same period in the corresponding fiscal.
Total income of the firm stood at Rs1,688.85 crore for the quarter ended 31 March, while the same was Rs1,367.82 crore during the same period last fiscal, JSL said in a filing to the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE).
For the year ended March 2010, the company reported a net profit of Rs376.45 crore. It had a net loss of Rs579.82 crore in the corresponding fiscal. Shares of JSL on Wednesday closed at Rs116.65 on BSE, down 0.30% from previous close.
MindTree Q4 profit nearly triples
Bangalore: Mid-size IT vendor MindTree Ltd said on Wednesday its fourth quarter profit rose 190% over a year ago to Rs54.4 crore on foreign exchange gains. Revenue grew 2% to Rs344.38 crore, the firm said in a statement. “We are confident that with the uptick in market momentum in recent months, MindTree will grow faster than the growth projected for the Indian IT industry in 2010-11,” the firm’s CEO and managing director Krishnakumar Natarajan said in the statement. Industry lobby Nasscom expects India’s IT sector to grow at 13-15% in fiscal 2011, as overseas customers spend more on outsourcing their work. MindTree said it will develop a 3G smartphone based on Google Inc.’s Android platform, and expects to launch the product in the second half of fiscal 2011.

Eicher Q1 net jumps twofold to Rs40.21 cr
New Delhi: Commercial vehicles maker Eicher Motors Ltd on Wednesday reported an over twofold jump in its net profit for the first quarter ending March 2010, at Rs40.21 crore on account of higher sales and cost efficiency measures. The company had recorded a profit of Rs15.83 crore in the same period last year, Eicher said in a statement today.
The total income from operations during the quarter increased by 74.71% to Rs1,040.91 crore from Rs595.79 crore in the year-ago period, it added.
