Mumbai: Lubricant maker Castrol India on Monday posted over 60% increase in net profit for the third quarter ended 30 September, to Rs95.6 crore over the same period a year earlier.
Total income of the company rose to Rs566.7 crore in the latest quarter of the current fiscal from Rs558.1 crore of year-ago period, Castrol India said in a statement to the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE).
During the July-September quarter, Castrol India’s expenditure on advertisement rose by 86% to Rs40 crore, compared to Rs21.5 crore in the same quarter in FY’09.
For the nine-month period ended September 30, the company posted a net profit of Rs300.3 crore, up 39% from Rs215.3 crore in the year-ago period.
Shares of Castrol India were trading at Rs563.60, down 2.03% in the afternoon trade on the BSE.
