New Delhi: Propped by a strong resurgence in the corporate travel from the financial services sector in India, Carlson Wagonlit Travel, or CWT, a subsidiary of global hospitality major Carlson, has seen its outbound travel transactions jump by 50% in the quarter ended 30 September, compared to the Aril-June quarter.
The company, which reported a revenue of $350 million (around Rs1,620 crore) from its Indian operations in 2008, expects a 10-15% decline this year and hopes to return to the 2008 level next year. “We will focus on the meetings, incentives, conferences and exhibitions market and expect to double its contribution to our topline from the current 10% to 20% by next year,” says Martin Warner, chief operating officer, Asia Pacific, CWT.
