New Delhi: Maruti Suzuki India Ltd has opened a service centre at Kaza in Himachal Pradesh’s Lahaul and Spiti district, located at an altitude of 3,740 metres.
Kaza is home to a number of Buddhist monastries and hosts some of the highest permanent settlements in Asia. It is a popular tourist destination.
“This workshop will not just meet local requirements but also cater to high tourist traffic,” the company said in a release on Tuesday.
The service centre is located adjacent to the world’s highest petrol pump, an Indian Oil Corp. Ltd outlet.
It will cover nearby areas as well, including Rangnik, Kibber, Hanse, Losar, towards Keylong and Attargo, Dhankar, Tabo, Hoorling, lower areas of Spiti, and areas of Kinnaur towards Recong Peo, the company said.
