Wipro bags contract from Saudi Electricity

Wipro Ltd has bagged a contract from Saudi Electricity Co. (SEC), the company said on Monday.

The size of the order was not disclosed.

Wipro will implement the plant maintenance and project system functionality of the ERP (enterprise resource planning) application for SEC’s distribution business line across Saudi Arabia, Wipro said, adding that it will implement an integrated system to offer centralized and standardized processes across SEC’s plants to ensure uptime of distribution networks, expense controls and effective utilization of assets.

SAP’s ERP-based system is expected to go live in the next 10 months.
