Mumbai: German car-maker, Volkswagen, on Thursday launched a special Indian Premier League edition of the Vento, priced at Rs7.24-lakh (ex-showroom, New Delhi).
The IPL edition Vento is based on the 1.6-litre petrol engine and will stand out with the IPL logo on the boot and seats. The cars will go on sale at the company’s 70 dealerships pan-India from the first week of April.
“The Vento was specially designed for the Indian customer and has become very popular since its launch last September, and is, hence, the perfect choice for an action model for this market,” Volkswagen India’s director, Neeraj Garg, told reporters here.
“The Vento IPL edition adds to our existing line-up as we continue to strive to give our customers innovations and at the same time value for money in our products,” he said, adding the IPL edition Vento costs Rs25,000 more than the base Vento.
Volkswagen has been named as the official partner for the fourth and fifth season of the high-profile Indian Premier League cricket tournament.
“Volkswagen will give all its Vento IPL edition customers an apt gift of a cricket kit. The IPL edition adds to our existing line-up as we continue to strive to give our customers innovations,” he said.
“IPL stands for the people’s game in India and what better way to associate our brand which literally means people’s car,” he said.
