Mumbai: Vijay Mallya-promoted Kingfisher Airlines Ltd, the second largest domestic airline, will launch a door-to-door express cargo service ’Kingfisher Express’, a senior executive told Mint on condition of anonymity. An official announcement is expected later Friday evening, he said. The proposed same-day express cargo service will be available in 20 cities, with a minimum parcel size of 10 kilogramme. The airline, which connects 63 cities in India with at least 360 daily flights, will also offer a money-back guarantee with its cargo service. Originally, Kingfisher Airlines had plans to start a dedicated cargo airline under the brand name King Cargo. G R Gopinath, who pioneered low-fare air travel in India with Air Deccan that he later sold to Kingfisher, has recently launched Cargo and Express Logistics Pvt. Ltd that offers small parcel delivery services nationwide under the ‘Deccan 360’ brand.
