New Delhi: Content marketing start-up YAAP Digital Pvt. Ltd has acquired branding and design company Brand Planet Consultants India Pvt. Ltd in an all-cash deal of $3 million, to expand its marketing technology tools into branding practices such as product packaging and logo designing.
The founders of Brand Planet, Anjan Roy and Shouvik Roy, will join the YAAP management team as senior partners.
YAAP, founded earlier this year by Nikhil Bapat and Manan Kapur, raised $5 million in funding from Rainmaker Ventures in July. The company provides content design and marketing technology tools for content discovery and distribution.
“Using YAAP’s technology tools we can change traditional packaging,” Anjan Roy said. “One use-case includes printing QR (quick response) codes that can be scanned on the mobile to read the attributes of the product.”
Gurgaon-based Brand Planet that worked in collaboration with Pune-based Elephant Design till June 2016 under the name of Elephant Delhi, was founded in 2008. The company provides services such as market entry strategy consulting, product packaging design, company logo design, employee communications, and brand positioning.
Brand Planet’s clientele includes Coca-Cola, Mrs Bector’s Foods, Godfrey Phillips India, SBI Cards, Hero Cycles, among others.
