Mumbai: Anil Ambani group firm Reliance Energy has declared a consolidated net profit of Rs1,178.21 crore for the year ended March 2008, a 41.19 per cent growth over the corresponding period a year ago.
The group had a net profit of Rs834.48 crore for the financial year 2006-07, Reliance Energy said in a filing to the Bombay Stock Exchange.
The consolidated total income of the group rose to Rs9,760.01 crore in the year ended March 2008, from Rs 7,774.53 crore in the previous fiscal.
On a standalone basis, the net profit stands at Rs1,084.63 crore for the fiscal ended March 2008, a 35.33 per cent growth compared to last year. The total income of the firm rose to Rs7,501.2 crore for the year ended March 2008 from Rs 6,575.25 crore year-ago.
The board of directors has declared a dividend of Rs6.3, on every share of face value of Rs10 held, for the year 2007-08, the filing said.
Further, the register of members and share transfer books of the company would remain closed from 8 July to 15 July for the purpose of payment of dividend and the annual general meeting, it added.
