Need to Know | After Vivel soaps, ITC launches shampoo
New Delhi: Following the launch of Vivel soaps in February, business conglomerate ITC Ltd on Wednesday anounced the launch of Vivel shampoos.
The launch will be supported by a comprehensive marketing plan. “We would be engaging in 360-degree approach like communicate through mass media, consumer promotion and sample the products to target group. We have a strong marketing plan which we will unfold in the next few months," ITC personal care business’ chief operating officer Sandeep Kaul said.
According to Kaul, the branded packaged shampoo market in India is pegged at around Rs2,100 crore.
The new product was a result of four years of extensive research and development at the ITC R and D centre, a company statement said.
The shampoo will be available to consumers in three variants and sizes. Apart from Vivel and Vivel Di Wills, ITC’s personal care portfolio comprises Essenza Di Wills, Fiama Di Wills and Superia brands.

Ranbaxy gets tentative nod for Valcyte copy
New Delhi:Ranbaxy Laboratories Ltd said it received a tentative US approval to sell a copycat of F.Hoffman-La Roche Ltd’s HIV/AIDS drug Valcyte.
Gurgaon-based Ranbaxy, in a statement, said it was the first non-patented drug maker to receive the approval from the US Food and Drug Administration for the drug.
