L&T bags Rs215 cr order for underground cabling in UAE

Mumbai: Engineering and construction firm Larsen and Toubro said on 8 May it has secured a ₹ 215 crore order from Abu Dhabi Water and Electricity Authority for supply and installation of power and fibre-optic cables.
The order, to be executed within 18 months, entails supply and installation of 33 kv power cables for inter- connections between various substations in the eastern region of Abu Dhabi, Larsen and Toubro informed the BSE.
According to the contract, the company has to carry out the work as per the specifications of international consultant Lahmeyer International Gmbh.
The contract would cover 11 substations in the eastern region of Abu Dhabi for the reinforcement of power distribution network to meet the increase in demand for power.
Shares of Larsen and Toubro were trading at ₹ 1712, up ₹ 7 or 1.04%, at 1130 hrs on the BSE.
