Mumbai: Varun Shipping today announced net profit of Rs225.78 crore for the financial year ended 31 March, an increase of 59.73% over the previous fiscal.
The company reported a net profit of Rs141.35 crore in the financial year ended 31 March 2007, Varun Shipping said in a filing to the Bombay Stock Exchange.
The company has declared a final dividend of 20% for the financial year ended 31 March, in addition to two interim dividends of 15% each, which was declared and paid earlier.
Earnings Per Share (EPS) for the fiscal year ended 31 March, was Rs15.19, against Rs11.26 in the previous financial year, the company added.
Company’s freight and charter hire income for 2007-08, increased by 26.49% to Rs850.80 crore as compared to Rs672.62 crore of the previous year.
At present the company owns a fleet of 21 vessels and transports around 72% of all LPG cargoes imported into the country by public sector undertakings.
Shares of the company closed at Rs78.85, down 0.57% on BSE.
