Union Bank Q4 net dips 11%
Mumbai: Public sector lender Union Bank of India on Thursday said its net profit has slipped by 10.75% to Rs465.06 crore in the fourth quarter (Q4) ended 31 March, over the same period last year.
The company had a net profit of Rs521.13 crore in the same quarter ended March 2008, Union Bank of India said in a filing to the Bombay Stock Exchange.
Total income of the company rose to Rs3,848.73 crore for the quarter under review, from Rs2,913.10 crore in the same quarter last fiscal.
For the year ended 31 March, the company has posted a net profit of Rs1,726.55 crore, up 24.47% from Rs1,387.03 crore in the same period last year.
The board of directors of the bank proposed a dividend of Rs5 a piece for the financial year 2008-09.
Shares of Union Bank of India were trading at Rs159.60, down 6.01% on the BSE.
