New Delhi: The American office of Ranbaxy Laboratories was investigated by US officials amid reports that it was locked, while the company was “surprised” by the move stating they are not aware of any “wrong doing”.
Ranbaxy confirmed the inspection at its US subsidiary yesterday stating it has done nothing wrong and its operations were continuing as normal.
“This action has come as a surprise. The company is not aware of any wrongdoing. It is co-operating fully with the officials,” Ranbaxy said in a statement.
The international media had reported that the drugmaker’s US office was locked down following a “criminal investigation” by the US Food and Drug Administration.
“Ranbaxy, today, operates in a complex global business environment in one of the most highly competitive and regulated industries. Over the decades, the company has consistently delivered high quality affordable medicines to millions across the world-including those in the most demanding markets,” it said.
