Nalco Q2 net up marginally to Rs444 cr

Mumbai: National Aluminium Company today said its net profit grew marginally by 1.08% to Rs444.46 crore for the second quarter ended 30 September.

The state-run firm had a net profit of Rs439.73 crore in the September quarter of last fiscal, Nalco said in a filing to the Bombay Stock Exchange.

The total income rose 12.36% to Rs1654.50 crore for the quarter under review, from Rs1472.54 crore in the year-ago period.

In the six-month ended 30 September, Nalco reported a net profit of Rs969.79 crore, a 9.41% growth over the same period last year. The firm had a net profit of Rs886.39 crore in the corresponding period.

The total income rose to Rs3,969.19 crore during the first half of current fiscal from Rs2556.94 crore in the same period last fiscal.

Nalco was trading at Rs165.85, up 11.57 in early trade on the BSE.
