Cyrus Mistry appointed chairman designate of Indian Hotels

He will take over as chairman from Ratan Tata on his retirement in December 2012

Mumbai: Cyrus P. Mistry, deputy chairman of Tata Sons Ltd, has been appointed chairman designate of the Indian Hotels Co. Ltd and will take over as chairman from Ratan Tata on his retirement in December 2012, according a statement issued by the hotel firm.
Mistry has been a director of Tata Sons since 2006 and he was made the deputy chairman of the firm in November 2011.
Indian Hotels is in the process of buying majority stake in the US-based hotel group Orient-Express.
