Mumbai: Prakash M. Telang, managing director, India operations, at Tata Motors Ltd, the country’s largest automaker, retired from and stepped down from the board, Tata Motors said in a statement on Thursday.

Telang joined Tata Motors as a Tata administrative service graduate in 1972. He took over as Tata Motors managing director in 2009.
The company has appointed two new executive directors -- Ravindra Pisharody, president, commercial vehicles business unit, and Satish Borwankar, senior vice president, manufacturing operations, commercial vehicles business unit.
Borwankar has been appointed as the executive director for quality, vendor development and strategic sourcing.
