SAIL, Tata Steel form JV to buy coal blocks

New Delhi: India’s Tata Steel and state-run Steel Authority of India Ltd have formed an equal joint venture to acquire and develop coal blocks in India, the two companies said in a statement on 3 January.
SAIL’s chairman S.K. Roongta and Tata Steel’s managing director B. Muthuraman signed the agreement.
