New Delhi: Cement manufacturer JK Lakshmi Cement Ltd on 16 May reported more than three-fold jump in its net profit for the quarter ended 31 March 2007 at Rs60.83 crore as against Rs23.7 crore in the corresponding quarter previous fiscal.
The company’s sales during the quarter grew 43% at Rs304 crore compared to Rs212.84 crore in the year ago quarter, JKLC said in a statement.
“With the capacity increase as well as efficiency improvement projects well timed, the company is fully geared up to meet the challenges arising out of the buoyant demand,” JKLC vice chairman and managing director Bharat Hari Singhania said in the statement.
For the fiscal ended 31 March, the company’s profit after tax grew more than four-fold at Rs178.11 crore as against Rs55.45 crore in the previous fiscal.
The company’s net sales in the year stood at Rs844 crore compared to Rs589.65 crore in the previous fiscal, up 45% year-on-year.
