Mumbai: Public sector lender Union Bank of India on Friday said its net profit for the third quarter of the current fiscal grew 84.03% at Rs671.74 crore over the corresponding period a year ago.
The bank had a net profit of Rs365.02 crore in the third quarter of financial year 2008, Union Bank of India said in a filing to the Bombay Stock Exchange.
The PSU lender’s total income rose to Rs3,653.79 crore for the quarter ended 31 December 2008, from Rs2,806.04 crore a year ago.
For the nine-month period to December-end, Union Bank registered a net profit of Rs1,261.49 crore, a 45.68% growth over the same period a year ago.
It had a net profit of Rs865.90 crore in the same period in FY’08.
Union Bank of India was trading at Rs143, down 2.99% in the afternoon trade on the BSE.
