Tata Motors passenger vehicles March sales rise 19%
In the absence of a new model, firm's utility vehicles declined 28% to 2,062 units
Mumbai: Tata Motors Ltd, India’s largest automaker, said March sales of passenger vehicles, heavy-duty trucks and buses rose, even as light trucks and utility vehicles continued to report a decline.
Sales of passenger vehicles sales, led by the Zest and Bolt models, rose 19% to 15,039 units over the last year, the company said in a filing to the stock exchanges. However, in the absence of a new model, company’s utility vehicles declined 28% to 2,062 units.
Sales of light commercial vehicles declined 17% to 17,127 units and commercial vehicles sales dropped 4% to 32,005 units. Sales of medium and heavy commercial vehicles rose 20% to 14,878 units.
