Mumbai: After inducting his daughter last year, Jet Airways (India) Ltd promoter Naresh Goyal has appointed son Nivaan Goyal, 20, as a management trainee in the airline.
Nivaan joined the carrier on 1 September 2010 for one year. The airline has proposed to extend the term by two years, up to 31 August 2013, according to the company’s latest annual report made available on Friday.
In July 2010, Jet Airways had inducted Goyal’s daughter Namrata Goyal, 22, into the company.
Nivaan is the fourth family member to be associated with the airline.
Goyal’s wife Anita is executive vice president for revenue management and network planning.
Shareholder permission for Nivaan’s appointment will be sought in the 19th annual general meeting on 17 August, as a special resolution.
Nivaan is employed at a monthly remuneration in the scale of Rs 30,000- Rs 65,000-Rs 90,000.
The company has sought shareholders’ nod for re-designating Namrata as executive, service development, and extending the term by two years to 11 July 2013, on a monthly salary in the scale of Rs 45,000-Rs 75,000-Rs 1 lakh
It is not clear whether Nivaan’s entry into Jet Airways is part of Goyal’s succession plan.
