New Delhi: Total earnings of Indian Railways grew 11.39% at Rs 2,656.7 crore during 11-20 June, a statement by the ministry said on Tuesday. The total goods earnings went up from Rs. 1607.96 crore during the period to Rs. 1798.32 crore, an increase of 11.84%. The total passenger revenue earnings during the period were Rs. 756.77 crore growing at 11.62% while the revenue earning from other coaching amounted to Rs. 71.08 crore during this period, an increase of 9.96%.
The total approximate number of passengers booked during the period grew 6.57% at 232.40 million. In the suburban and non-suburban sectors, the number of passengers booked were 118.47 million and 113.93 million compared to 111.17 million and 106.90 million during the same period last year, registering an increase of 6.57% and 6.58% respectively.
