Bangalore: Navratna Defence PSU Bharat Electronics Ltd (BEL) has posted a turnover of Rs4,114 crore (provisional) for 2007-08 as against previous year’s turnover of Rs3,952 crore, registering a rise of 4.09%.
BEL achieved exports of $15.4 million, an increase of 32% over last year’s figure of $11.6 million, a company release said here on Thursday.
The order book as on 1 April, 2008 is estimated to be around Rs9,450 crore.
Some significant orders executed during the year include, supply of STARS V Frequency Hopping, a VHF manpack transreceiver; Advanced Land Navigation System for tanks; a command control systems for the artillery wing of the Indian army; Central acquisition radar for the air force; Passive Night Vision Device (both monocular and binocular); and Doppler Weather Radar for prediction of meteorological data.
More than 20 new products were introduced and supplied during the year. The new products include GMD Mark II, a laser-based gap measuring device; Doppler Weather Radar: Operations cabin; Eye safe laser range finder; and optronic Pedestal.
