New Delhi: Procter and Gamble Hygiene and Health Care Ltd on Thursday reported a 5.46% rise in net profit to Rs.53.99 crore for its second quarter ended 31 December.
The company had posted net profit of Rs.51.19 crore in the same quarter last fiscal, it said in a BSE filing. Net sales during the quarter under review stood at Rs.470.57 crore against Rs.354.32 crore in the year-ago period, it added.
Sales during the quarter were driven by category expansion, consumer initiatives and pricing, combined with a weak base period, the company said.
Without sharing the absolute figures, the company said its feminine care segment grew 45% during the quarter, while growth in personal health care stood at 19%.
The company’s scrip closed 2.24% lower at Rs.2,475.00 a piece on BSE. The benchmark index, Sensex, declined 0.30% to 19,580.32 points.
