Chennai: Hyundai Motor India Ltd., the second largest car manufacturer and the largest passenger car exporter, on Wednesday touched 3 million mark in the sale of its vehicles including exports.
The auto firm started its Indian operations in 1996 and rolled out the first Santro in September 1998.
“We are extremely delighted to share this achievement with all our stakeholders and we believe this was possible because of our total commitment to the Indian market and the faith our customers have put in our products,” said H. W. Park, managing director and CEO, HMIL.
HMIL is a wholly owned subsidiary of Hyundai Motor Company, South Korea. HMIL presently markets six models of passenger cars across different segments.
