New Delhi: India’s Tata Motors Ltd will do everything it can to roll out its super-cheap Nano car as close to the planned October launch as possible after having to stop work at its West Bengal factory, Chairman Ratan Tata said on said on Thursday.
“We obviously want to launch as we had planned. And we’ll do everything possible to come as close to the planned launch as we possibly can,” Tata said at an industry conference.
A dispute over land given to the firm in the communist-run state forced Tata Motors, India’s top vehicle maker, to suspend work late on Tuesday at the plant where it planned to build the Nano, billed as the world’s cheapest car.
