Mumbai: Pharma company Nicholas Piramal India announced a net profit of Rs132.82 crore for the fourth quarter ended March 31, against a net profit of Rs54.95 crore in the corresponding period in 2007.
Total income rose to Rs767.9 crore for the quarter under review from Rs645.21 crore in the year-ago period, NPIL said in a filing to the Bombay Stock Exchange.
NPIL group has announced a net profit of Rs333.78 crore for the financial year ended March 31, against Rs218.05 crore for the year ended March 31, 2007.
Total income of the group rose to Rs2878.91 crore for the year ended March 31, from Rs2472.32 crore in the previous year, the filing added.
Further, the board has declared a dividend of Rs4.20 on equity shares of Rs2 each for the financial year ending March 31.
Figures for the quarter and year ended include operations of Nicholas Piramal Consumer Products and NPIL Healthcare and excludes operations of Piramal Life Sciences. Hence, the figures are not comparable, the filing stated.
NPIL has announced a standalone net profit of Rs112.3 crore for the fourth quarter ended March 31, against Rs26.92 crore for the corresponding quarter last year.
Standalone total income of the firm rose to Rs516.98 crore for the reviewed quarter, from Rs387.21 crore in the corresponding quarter in 2007. The company announced a standalone net profit of Rs301.48 crore for the year ended March 31, against Rs188.28 crore in the corresponding period in 2007.
The total income rose to Rs 1,938.07 crore for the year ended March 31, from Rs 1,639.88 crore for the financial year ending March 31, 2007.
