Mumbai: Hero Honda Motors Ltd, India’s top motorbike maker, has raised prices of some models to partially offset rising costs of raw materials, the company said.
Prices of its entry-level 100 cc motorbikes have been raised by up to Rs850 ($20), it said in a statement that did not give details of price increases on other models.
Japan’s Honda Motor Co and India’s Hero Group hold 26% each in Hero Honda.
Vehicle makers in India have recently raised prices by up to 3% to offset higher costs of materials such as steel, even as rising interest rates and high fuel prices have slowed sales in Asia’s third-biggest economy.
