Deccan Chronicle Q1 net dips 27% at Rs61 crore

Mumbai: Deccan Chronicle Holdings Ltd, publisher of Deccan Chronicle and Asian Age, on 29 July announced a 27% decline in its net profit of Rs60.98 crore for the quarter ended 30 June, 2008, over the corresponding period a year ago.
The company had a net profit of Rs83.75 crore in the first quarter of financial year 2008, Deccan Chronicle Holdings said in a filing to the Bombay Stock Exchange.
Total income rose to Rs199.46 crore in the first quarter of this fiscal, from Rs183.61 crore in the year-ago period.
Shares of the company were trading at Rs108, down 8.09% on the BSE in afternoon trade.
