Mumbai: With the Indian economy set to achieve high growth in the coming years, several young entrepreneurs are aspiring to create a niche for themselves, but the challenge for them is to strengthen one’s presence in the highly competitive world of business.
To overcome this, Directi, India’s first Internet domain registrar and web hosting company, has come out with a one-stop solution with BigRock.com, that will help businesses, professionals and individuals boost their business growth through a strong brand presence.
“BigRock.com will help start-ups and individuals have a face for themselves. It will strengthen their brand presence, boost business growth and unleash true potential,” Directi Founder and CEO Bhavin Turakhia told PTI here.
Affordable at Rs 199 per annum, BigRock will help entrepreneurs create a website and domain name, he said.
Part of the $300-million Directi Group, BigRock will initially cater to the high-growth Indian market with a complete suite of innovative web-presence solutions ranging from domain name registration, business-class email services, website hosting and design services, e-commerce solutions and digital certificates, he added.
The firm, in a bid to create awareness about BigRock, has invested around Rs 10 crore for an aggressive roll out of funny and humorous TVCs and viral videos.
On expectations from India, the 30-year-old CEO, said, “there is a huge potential in the market as a large base of consumers are still unaware of the need of having a website in this world of Internet. The ratio of domain names registered to the number of Internet users stands at 1:45, whereas it is 1:5 in the US.”
India represents a $100-million market opportunity and is growing at 25% annually and there has been a heathy demand coming not only from metros but also tier II and III cities, Turakhia said.
“We aim to target the 15-million strong SMB (small and medium-size business) market in India and offer end-to-end web presence solutions at highly affordable price points. We are committed to expand the market and achieve a leadership position with 20% market share over the next three years.”
BigRock, with a current workforce of 75 spread across its three offices in Mumbai, Bangalore and Delhi, and a sales and support team available round the clock, will help create design and develop products with advanced features that will help making a website easier.
“The Indian consumer is ready for world class web solutions. BigRock will fill a critical void in the web-presence industry with its innovative suite of web products and solutions designed to fortify businesses,” said Turakhia, who started the company Directi at an age of 18 with about Rs 20,000 investment.
Now, the company is a $300-million entity that develops innovative mass market web products serving millions of customers worldwide.
The company with two more business - ResellerClub and LogicBoxes - serves over a million customers across the globe.
