Hyderabad: At a time when companies across the globe are axing thousands of jobs, as many as 10,000 posts in various categories will be offered by major public sector players like Reliance ADAG, IBM and Wipro at a Mega Job Mela being organised here on 18 and 19 February.
The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) is organising the Mega Job Mela to facilitate employment of 10,000 youths in not only software companies but also various other organisations.
“From a 7th class pass to a software engineer, a variety of jobs will be on offer at the Mega Job Mela. Our target is 10,000 jobs this year,” GHMC commissioner and special officer S.P. Singh said.
Reputed companies like Reliance (Anil Dhirubhai Ambani Group), HSBC Global Resourcing, Promantra, GE Money Servicing, Aegis, NIIT Uniqua, Ramky group, PVR Cinemas, Cholamandalam, UB Engineering, Bajaj Allianz, and a host of others totalling 90 will conduct tests and interviews for prospective candidates and provide on-the-spot placements, Singh said.
Indian Air Force too would be a participant in the fair and offer jobs.
Andhra Pradesh chief minister Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy would inaugurate the event.
This is the first time that the GHMC is organising such a job fair under its Urban Community Development initiative.
