New Delhi: Software training firm NIIT on Wednesday entered into an agreement with Microsoft to integrate the latter’s authorised curriculum into its (NIIT) career program - GNIIT.
As per the agreement, Microsoft Learning would provide rights of its licensed educational content to NIIT for assisting IT professionals, software developers, businesses, and others.
“To help increase the pool of Microsoft trained and certified resources for the industry, we along with NIIT are targeting to train nearly 100,000 students in the next three years on Microsoft Technologies,” said Chris Pirie, Microsoft Learning general manager.
The new range of programs would be rolled out across 200 NIIT education centres in India.
“We are planning to launch the programme in 450 centres by next 3 years and also have plans to introduce the curriculum in 30 other countries, including China, in a phased manner. With the new training alliance, GNIIT program becomes the first IT career program in the country to offer Microsoft Authorised Learning content,” he added.
Students would be skilled in the latest Developer and Database platforms comprising of technologies like Visual Studio, NIIT and SQL Server.
The two companies already had an alliance. As Microsoft’s Best Learning Solutions Partner in India, NIIT has been offering training programs on the latter’s technologies.
