Hyderabad: International Paper Co. has appointed Michael Amick, Jr. as the new president of its India operations. Amick will also serve on the board of IP Paper (India) Pvt. Ltd. and will assume charge as executive chairman of the board of Andhra Pradesh Paper Mills Ltd. in August, the company announced in a statement on Monday.

Amick replaces Paul Brown, who has returned to the US because of personal health issues.
Amick, who began his career with International Paper (IP) in 1990 as a supervisor of one of its mills, will oversee IP’s business in India, including setting strategic direction for the company in the region, the company said. He was vice president and general manager for the coated paperboard business of International Paper prior to this appointment.
“His years of experience at International Paper have trained and prepared him for a role such as this, and there is no doubt that he can continue the sound leadership of this branch of our organisation.” Tom Kadien, senior vice president, consumer Packaging, IP Asia and IP India, said in the statement.
