Reliance Power starts operations at Rosa plant

New Delhi: Reliance Power Ltd, the power generation arm of the Anil Dhirubhai Ambani group on Monday started 20MW of capacity at its first power plant.
The power generation is at its 1,200MW unit at Rosa, 350km east of New Delhi, said Jayarama Chalasani, chief executive officer.
The company plans to build at least 3,000MW capacity by March 2012, the first 300MW unit of which will be fully operational by end of January, he said.
The Mumbai-based company is spending Rs6,000 crore to build the Rosa project.
