Need for using recylable materials by auto industry stressed
Chennai: The automotive and the foundry industries in the country should collaborate with each other and adopt new technologies that would facilitate the usage of recyclable materials, said R Seshasayee, managing director, Ashok Leyland.
He said the government would have to come up with a legislation for the automobile industry in the next 10 to 15 years, to use recyclable material.
“The onus is on the automobile industry to look for recycleable material for production in a rapidly progessing automotive market which will serve a great impetus to the foundry industry in the country that has been involved in unorganised trade to secure raw materials," he said delivering the inaugural address at the 68th Wolrd Foundry Congress in Chennai on Friday.
He added that energy related issues would be the cause of conflicts in the future and said that the policy framework in the country was not good enough to make energy production a competitive tool.
