New Delhi: Maruti Udyog Ltd, maker of half the cars sold in India, sold 53% more vehicles in February, helped by local demand for its Swift and Zen Estilo hatchbacks.
Maruti sold 62,999 cars, vans and sport-utility vehicles in India and overseas last month, compared with 41,095 a year earlier, the New Delhi-based unit of Japan’s Suzuki Motor Corp. said in an e-mailed statement today.
