Bangalore: The IBM India Research Laboratory (IRL), one of eight IBM Research labs across the globe, announced the expansion of its Bangalore facility on 5 November to address growing opportunities for ‘service innovation´ in the region.
As part of its expansion plans, the Bangalore site of the IRL has moved to a larger facility at its Embassy Golf Links Campus, a company release said.
“IBM will open this facility here to its clients, to connect its researchers with the most difficult, real world problems facing the services industry, in the areas of business intelligence, systems management and optimisation”, it said.
The facility has more than double the floor space of the earlier location, increased headcount and will provide IBM better bandwidth to address services innovation needs of a larger client base worldwide; correspondingly to attract, motivate and retain a strong talent pool, it said.
