Iron ore exporters and other stakeholders affected by the recent export levy may be asked to present their views when the group of ministers talks enters the second stage next month. While no official note has been sent yet, the matter was discussed when the group, constituted to discuss the National Mineral Policy, met earlier this month.
The next meeting will be held on 14 May. The Federation of Indian Mineral Industries, which represents 400 mining firms and has been pressing for lifting of export duty, may be asked to present its case, said a government official who did not want to be identified.
