New Delhi: Truck maker Eicher Motors Ltd expects strong growth in October-March driven by the festive season and new launches, a senior official said on 5 September.
Eicher typically gets up to 58% of its volumes in the second half of the year but it was likely to be better this year, A. Ramasubramanian, chief executive of the commercial vehicles unit, said on the sidelines of an industry conference.
“The second half will be a much larger engine of growth than in the past,” he said.
The company, which is evaluating partnership opportunities, is testing a few products and would commercialise them in the second half, he said.
Besides, auto sales usually surge in the festive season, which is now underway and runs till the end of the year, when companies offer discounts to lure buyers.
Eicher, which lags Tata Motors and Ashok Leyland in sales, has managed to expand sales by about a tenth in the first half at a time when the industry’s growth has slowed, Ramasubramanian said.
