The digital services of Mahanagar Telephone Nigam Ltd (MTNL) will get a renewed push over the next four months as the state-run firm launches new services and enhances capacity on products currently on offer.

The fixed-line and wireless operator in Delhi and Mumbai, which on Monday launched a network services for corporates, will introduce a low-cost, Internet technology-based phone service over the next two weeks.

MTNL will also launch a renewed radio and print ad-campaign for its so-called Internet protocol television (IPTV) services early next month and increase its broadband capacity from 524,000 lines to nearly 1.3 million in over three months.

MTNL, which has less than one-eighth of its total 3.8 million fixed-line phone customers subscribing to broadband, has nearly exhausted its capacity in Mumbai and is close to doing so in Delhi.
