New Delhi: Gillette India Ltd (GIL) on Monday said it had posted a net profit of Rs28.8 crore and recorded sales of Rs121.7 crore for the January-March quarter. Comparable figures from the previous fiscal were not available.
GIL is still in the process of being integrated with Procter & Gamble (P&G). To realign its acounting year with P&G, GIL extended its fiscal year from 12 months to an 18-month period and will close the current fiscal on 30 June 2007.
On a 15-month basis, GIL’s sales at Rs531.5 crore were up 8% versus Rs491.0 crore for the corresponding period last year. Likewise, profit after tax at Rs99.1 crore was up 47.5 %, compared with Rs67.2 crore in the corresponding period last year.
