New Delhi / Mumbai: Reliance Industries Ltd may have an estimated 20 trillion cu. ft of natural gas reserves in two areas off the east coast, at least double the quantity of its biggest field, partner Hardy Oil and Gas Plc. said.
The D-3 and D-9 fields the Krishna Godavari basin may hold as much as 9.5 trillion cu. ft and 10.8 trillion cu. ft of gas, respectively, UK-based Hardy Oil said in a statement on Wednesday, citing estimates by consultant Gaffney, Cline and Associates Ltd. Reliance Industries, which owns 90% in the areas, didn’t respond to emailed questions.
